PARTS OF SPEECH
introduction
parts of speech are the basic types of words
most grammar books say that there are eight parts of speech .
ouns,verbs,adjectives,adverbs,pronouns,conjonctions,preposition,and introjections.
we will add one more type which is article
NOUN
a noun is a naming word it names a person,place,thing,idea,living creature,quality or action
exemple // cowboy ,theatre,boxarrival
VERB
a verb is a word which describes an action or state
exemple walk, talk, think, believe, live, like, want........
ADJECTIVE
an adjective is a word that describes a noun , it tells you something about the noun
exemple happy, greatful, graceful, nice,shy,sad.........
ADVERB
an
adverb is a word which usually describe a verb it tells you how
something is a done it may also tell you when and where something happen
exemple slowly, intelegently, tomorrow,yesterday, well, everywhere
PRONOUN
apronoun is used instead of a noun to avoid repeating the noun
exemple you, we , she, they
CONJONCTION
a conjonction join sentences togther
exemple but , because , inorder ,
PREPOSITION
a preposition usually comes before a noun or noun phrase it joins the noun to some other part of the sentences
exemple in,at,by,under,through,with
INTERJECTIONS
an interjection is a knd of word because it often stands alone
interjections are words which express emotion or surprise and they are usually followed by exclamation marks
exemple ouch!, hello, hi ! , hurry!
ARTICLE
an article is used to introduce or to replace a noun
exemple: the, an, a
